Hanqi Zhou

Hi there! Thank you for dropping by. I am Hanqi Zhou (周涵琪*qi is similar to “chee” in cheese; Zh is most similar to “j” in Bonjour.).

I am an incoming postdoctoral researcher, jointly hosted by Alison Gopnik at UC Berkeley and Max Kleiman-Weiner at UW.

I did my PhD in computational cognitive science at the University of Tübingen and IMPRS-IS, supervised by Charley Wu and Peter Dayan, and worked closely with Kou Murayama.

I am interested in how humans think, learn, and make decisions, especially when we are short on computation and memory. I like to start from theory, build computational models (with symbolic representations, e.g. program induction), and test them through online experiments.
